I am a single mom navigating the balance of raising two daughters, coparenting, and a career that demands my full attention. The responsibilities are many and the challenges are real, but the rewards are beautiful.
The Safe and Sound Protocol was impactful for my youngest daughter, who was diagnosed with ADHD. I recall her first listening session when she stated, “Mama, I don’t feel anxious or angry anymore.” Her insight brought me to tears as I recognized how she had been suffering with those emotions. Since that first session, her resilience has increased, and she often requests to listen when she identifies that she is emotionally dysregulated.
Keeping all the pieces moving forward isn’t simple, but I decided it is important to focus on moments of progress and build strength through the process. I have learned that resilience is built in the everyday choices: showing up, adapting, and moving forward, even when the weight feels heavy.
